About the GovKids Crew

The GovKids Crew are the guides for kids.miamidade.gov. All three members, Tommy, Maria and Reggie have parents that work for Miami-Dade County and each has a special interest in our County.

Tommy

Tommy is the GovKids Crew's techno expert. If it has to do with electronics, he has the latest info and upgrades for it.

Tommy's dad works for GIS and his mom is a homemaker who manages their busy life in Perrine. He has two siblings: baby brother Bobby who’s two, and twin sister Tina who goes to prep school in Homestead.

Despite being a techno-whiz, Tommy is very much a sports nut, and is active in the Optimist Club sports league at his neighborhood park, and can always count on his friends to be the cheering section at his baseball games.

Tommy’s other best friend is Spike, an English Bulldog that his family rescued from Animal Services. He is sort of the mascot for the GovKids Crew, and often accompanies the kids on their outings.

His interests include computers, gaming, baseball, biking, science and hanging with his friends.

Whether it’s his mp3 player, cell phone, or video game, Tommy is never without some kind of device—if it’s beeping, ringing or buzzing, you know it’s Tommy.
