The Fire Rescue Department protects people, property and the environment by responding to emergencies like fires, and they also work on search and rescue missions and treat venomous snake bites.

Air Rescue
Do you like helicopters and firefighting? Learn more about the brave firefighters of Air Rescue and the important work they do.
- Marine Services
Firefighters that work for Marine Services are ready to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day that happen on County beaches, shorelines and in the water. Fire Rescue’s Dive Rescue Bureau has the largest Public Safety Diver Program in the United States consisting of 400 SCUBA rescue divers! Their Ocean Rescue Bureau is comprised of lifeguards. They keep beachgoers safe, and they teach the importance of water safety.
- HAZMAT
With special suits that are big, bright and green, HAZMAT unit members are protected them from toxic substances. They clean-up hazardous spills and protect us from dangerous materials.
- Technical Rescue
You may have seen these firefighters on the scene of car crashes. They remove victims that are trapped. Learn more about their life-saving job.
- Urban Search and Rescue
The Urban Search and Rescue team are on the scene when disasters happen. They help rescue victims and take care of those who are hurt.
- Venom Response
This team of highly trained paramedic firefighters take care of people who have been bitten by venomous animals, including snakes.
- Motorcycle Emergency Response Team
These emergency medical service responders use motorcycles, not trucks, to get to the scene of an emergency!
